FAQ
How do you paint the pet portraits?
When ordering your pet portrait, please send me a few different photos of your pet, preferably in good lighting. Once I have a photo, I will begin painting the portrait.
What is included in the pet portrait?
Your pet portrait will be created using professional oil paint on a gallery quality canvas, and finished off with a satin varnish. The varnish helps to protect the painting from dust and scratches.
It will be sent to you with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Can I get my pet portrait framed?
Yes! If you would like your pet portrait to be framed, I will have it framed for you at my local framer. The best type of frame for an artwork is an off-set frame, which looks like a floating border around the canvas. There are 3 colors to choose from: oak, white, or black.
Please note that framing can take between 1 and 3 weeks.
How long does it take?
Each pet portrait takes between 3 and 5 days to create, and 3 days to dry. This depends on the size of your pet portrait. I will post it off to you as soon as it is dry. Since I receive many commissions, I will let you know approximately when i can start your portrait depending on where you are in line.
Can I order a pet portrait as a gift?
Yes! Pet portraits make wonderful gifts that your friends and family are sure to keep forever. If you want it to be a surprise, I can arrange a gift voucher for you.
Can you paint other animals?
Although dogs have been the most requested, I can paint any other type of animal, such as cats, birds, horses, and more!
Can you paint pets that have passed away?
Pet portraits are a great way to memorialise your beloved pet, and I would love to create a special painting for you to keep.
